Most of the colleges, including Sri Ram College of Commerce, Kirori Mal, Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Sri Venkateswara, Zakir Hussain, Satyawati, Arobindo have resorted to re-scheduling their exams due to theagitation. Some like Daulat Ram college is still mulling over the issue to re-schedule them and is waiting for the teachers to come out with a decision today while those like Miranda House, Ramjas, Hansraj and Maitreyi are following the date sheet unmindful of the protests. "The exams will be conducted as scheduled," said principal of Miranda House, Pratibha Jolly, "with no disruption," she added. Voicing their opposition to the proposed "retrograde" service conditions of university and college teachers, the DU teachers under the umbrella of Federation of Central Universities Teachers Associations (FEDCUTA) are scheduled for a meeting of the University Grants Commission (UGC) today. The teachers have made a detailed agitation plan stretching through this month as they decided to agitate against the issue. The FEDCUTA has called for a days strike today followed by a hunger strike by the utive on the same day and a dharna by teachers at UGC. By the months , the FEDCUTA will also be going in for a two-day action programme. All the central universities teachers would be called to strike on January 28 and sit on a dharna while the next day will see all the teachers gathered at Ferozshah Road to march to the UGC. The teachers will go in for a protracted agitation programme if their demands are not being met.
